What Is A Healthy Weight Loss?

Once you decide to shed those extra weights and promise to eat healthy, you will start receiving tons of advice on what to eat, how much to eat, when to drink and so on and so forth. Weight loss is not a smooth journey, and it often becomes frustrating when you do not get the results as per your efforts. One should always remember that each body type is different and weight loss techniques will also affect differently. However, it is essential not to fall for shortcuts or advice that promises quick results and damages your form even more. Instead, the ideal solution that works for every body type is to look for a sustainable weight loss process. Do you know what a healthy weight loss is?

Losing takes time because gaining did too.

Weight loss is not a one-day job. You did not gain those extra inches and pounds in a month; then how do you expect it all to go away in one month? Patience is what you need for a long-term weight loss plan. It isn't easy to see people around you with a quick-fix diet and detox drinks, 100 protein shakes in two. However, the more sustainable the weight loss, the lesser the rebound. On average, 2-3kgs in a month is a healthy weight to lose. In case you are confused about how to start, don't jump on random Googled diets. Instead, consult a dietician. Or get a health buddy. It is not easy to feel motivated every day. A dietician will help you to be on track and a buddy will share your well deserved cheat meal every once in a while.

Be Mindful

Some people lose their minds while trying to lose weight. Do not set unrealistic goals for yourself. You don't need to starve yourself to lose weight. Eat slowly and chew your food. Enjoy your food and be aware of what you are putting in your mouth. Relish your meals, avoid distraction. Be fully present during your meal timings. Our brain takes at least 20mins to tell the stomach that it is full. Give time to your brain to know when to stop.

Follow a Holistic approach

It is common to see people on weight loss routines be obsessed with eating habits and exercise routines. In reality, it is a holistic approach that provides the best results. You will not lose weight if you are not prioritizing sleep. It is resting after exercise. Please do not focus on only a few aspects. It is a holistic approach that helps and speeds up the entire weight loss process. Eating right, exercising daily, prioritizing sleep, staying hydrated, and avoiding unhealthy smoking and drinking habits are critical attributes to good health and healthier weight management.

Eat right

Eating a nutritious and balanced diet is best for weight loss. When following a calorie deficit diet, make sure you are not compromising on protein and complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Avoid processed foods and try to eat home-cooked meals. Additionally, keep a watch on your drinks as well. Many popular drinks are full of sugar. Avoid them completely.

And lastly, remember that everyone has a different body type. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to weight loss. What works for your friend or a family member may not work for you? Your health is in your hands.
